Jake, Elayna and I were lucky enough to be able to sneak away to Phoenix for a long weekend. It was heavenly. While I hear they get some bad weather in the summer, it’s hard to believe it this time of year. It basically felt like June in Portland while we were there and we loooooooved it!
We stayed with Jake’s Aunt Penny, Uncle Jim, and cousin Connor. His mom and dad, and sister Megan all went too. I can’t believe how well it worked for us all to stay in one house. Thank you to everyone who made it possible and even comfortable for us to bring Elayna out there!!!
The one downside was that poor Elayna was sick almost the whole time we were there (fever and sore throat) so that was a bummer, but she still enjoyed the time she got with family. We just had to take it pretty easy or she got very wimpy. We all heard a lot of the phrase “Up for Daddy!!!” which actually means “Up with Daddy.” I don’t know why she switched the word out, but it was funny. It was definitely her catch-phrase for the weekend!
Overall, it was an amazing vacation. We really loved Phoenix and already miss everyone…. and that beautiful orb in the sky, too. 😉
