Elayna has started talking more often. Making cute little chatter “noises” that are almost words, but still indistinct. I often wonder what she is saying when she strings together a group of her words. Just a second ago she said “tha-da-kida-eeeeee”! Wonder what that means!

When she is in a talkative mood I can often get her to use her real words too. She can say, or has said, all of these more than once recently:

*Puppy
*Baby (she says this one a lot right now)
*Ya! (almost always said with the exclamation point)
*Book (boo)
*Bee (and when I ask what a bee says, she sometimes says “Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeee”- ha!)
*Hi (its not quite hi still. more like ha-i)
*Bye Bye
*Cheese
*Done
*Down
*Flower (flurr)
*Pretty (she just started saying this today)
*Mi-Mi (yes, Meg, you heard that right… she finally says it, but she says it after her doll says amen…. We will work on re-associating the word when we see you next.)
*Papa (for Grampa)
*Milk (sounds like mullk)
*Night-Night (nigh-nigh – sometimes for naptime)

I know there are more, but I can’t think of them all right now. I need to keep better track of her progress in this department!

Although people tell me that, once she starts talking, I will wish she would stop, I can’t believe it right now. I am loving every bit of her communication with me. I look forward to her being able to tell me what she wants, likes, loves, needs, etc. =)
