So, most kids here in Iowa are sporting quite the tan by this time of summer. Elayna and I seem to stand out glaringly in contrast, having come from the place that forgot to be sunny (before we left at the end of July, that is). 😉
All over in the Des Moines area there are parks with splash pads/ wading pools in them (free and perfect for E’s age) and aquatic centers (SO cool looking!). We hadn’t had time to check any of them out until this week, and then I realized that they are all about to close since the school age children are all back to school in the next week or so. Bummer!
Before they all shut down, we knew we had to check some out. We spent the past couple of days by the pool (a very shallow one, which is so nice for both E and I). It was awesome! E loves it there, and I didn’t mind sitting in the pool and sunning either.
Maybe there is hope for some tans on us yet! 😉
